Questions travellers often ask

Is the Eurail Global Pass still sold under that name?

Since 10 September 2026, the former Eurail and Interrail products have been unified under the Interrail name worldwide. EurailGlobalPass.com is a guide to the current Interrail Global Pass.

How many countries are covered?

The current Global Rail Pass network has 33 European countries. Only participating railway operators and eligible services are covered; not all cross-border trains or local transfers exist.

Can a traveller living outside Europe buy the Interrail Global Pass?

Yes. The Interrail Global Pass is marketed worldwide following the September 2026 name change. Country-of-residence information is still collected at booking.

What if I live in a covered European country?

Travel within your country of residence is generally restricted to an outbound journey and an inbound journey using ordinary travel days, not two extra days. Check the applicable current terms.

Do I need seat reservations?

Many high-speed, international and sleeper services require separate paid reservations; many regional trains do not. Always verify the specific departure.

Can I use the pass on city buses and metro services?

Not as a general entitlement. Urban transport, ferries, mountain railways and private operator services may be excluded or discounted rather than included.

Is the Interrail Global Pass worth it?

It depends on your actual journeys, classes, dates and reservations. Compare the pass plus extras with individual train-ticket prices for the same itinerary.

Do I need to travel every day?

No. A flexible pass lets you choose travel days within its overall validity. Continuous passes cover the full validity period; check the available product options.

Can I go to every destination in an included country by train?

No. Coverage lists describe a participating network, not guaranteed train services to every city or across every border. Coastal or Balkan itineraries may need extra road or ferry transfers.

Who processes payment for the pass?

The Check Prices links open the independent retailer Rail Europe in a new tab through the local booking redirect. This website does not issue passes or take payment.
